Below is the information on the charity that Sparkles events will be raising money for. This charity will be supported for the foreseeable future, and will be attending some of our events to help support us too.
EAST ANGLIAN AIR AMBULANCE - 1083876
The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) will be helping us out at some of the Events, they have agreed to come down and talk to our customers about the work they do, I have also agreed (Rather Bravely) to do a parachute jump and a bungee jump with members of the EAAA next year (GULP). "They need our help today as we may need their help tomorrow"
FACTS:
1. They need to raise over £3 million a year to keep them flying, This breaks down to £350,000.00 per month.
2. They are a lifesaving charity which receives no government funding and so are entirely dependent on fundraising and donations
3. Their aircraft, anglia one and anglia two, provide a 365 day-a-year emergency service across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
4. Road traffic accidents account for over 50% of the incidents they attend
5. On average they fly four - five missions each day
6. The doctors and paramedics have all undergone advanced emergency medical training
7. The journey by air to the nearest A & E department takes no more than 13 minutes from anywhere in the region
